Garrett, you write “it is only a movie” as if the sex is special effects. It is as if you think you are looking at cartoons rather than human beings.

I think Jake has it backwards. I think when most people see two guys fucking with a condom they think the guys are smart and are taking care of themselves. On the other hand, watching two fools barebacking makes me think of disease and death.

Also, IMO, porn is different from mainstream films about murder and robbing banks. Porn mentally arouses our natural selves. Most of us aren’t naturally inclined to kill or rob. I could easily see how too much exposure to bareback porn could more easily tempt some viewers to want to experience and emulate that kind of sex than a Scorsese film would prompt someone to go on a shooting spree.

I know the difference between fantasy and reality – do you? What does “mainstream” have to do with how you got HIV? Did you get it because, after watching a porn video, you thought it was safe? Um, I think not.

When I was a teenager, I decided that just because the majority of people do or say something, does not mean I have to do or say the same. So if you are blaming others for your HIV, then I say, you could have done the same (thought for yourself).

Now let’s get another thing clear: Safe-sex can be practiced without a condom. It’s called commitment. Or are you so fatalistic about gay relationships that you think gays should never be without a condom, and heaven forbid that one gay person should ever see a gay couple fucking without a condom? If so, I think you have issues of self-loathing to deal with.

I have never used a condom, and I have always practiced safe-sex. Think about that one.

So if porn-stars want to take huge risks, that’s up to them. I don’t get off on it just because they are without a condom, but I must admit, it looks more natural. And nothing about what they are doing encourages me to take the same risks.

Take responsibility.

For starters, Jake may be a daddy bear, but he is not our mommy. I doubt any of you are sitting in front of your computer with your lover and having sex without a condom while staring at naked gay men getting boinked without a condom. I daresay most of you are jacking off alone while looking at your tiny computer screen. And if you do have a lover, chances are you’ve been tested within the proper parameters and have been together long enough that you don’t need a condom.

Jake and the rest of these site owners are producing gay sex entertainment, which is part of the porn industry. Anyone who thinks any of these “actors” are just guys fresh off the boat are delusional. This is a business. Money is made and paid to these “actors.” You can create your own fantasy about any of these guys – and judging from the comments, especially from you teenyboppers who shouldn’t be using your parent’s computer, you will – but nothing these “actors” are doing is spontaneous. It’s all smoke and mirrors. There’s a written framework of what’s to be done. There’s a set, often boring ( as with Corbin Fisher or Sean Cody). There’s two (or 3 or more) “actors,” some of them truly boring like CF’s Connor or Jeremy Walker. And, standing around watching it all is the site owner (producer), the cameraman or cameramen, the sound guy, the BetaSP guy who keeps an eye on the tape (or digital cards), the lighting guy, probably a fluffer (to help keep the men hard), and certainly some poor dolt who’s job it is is to clean up the cum.

Just because Jake shows guys getting fucked without a condom doesn’t mean YOU or anyone else will fuck without a condom.
