But in all honesty, I started out sort of uptight, too. Like some of the guys in these videos, I didn’t want to think of myself as gay, but I wanted sex with guys, so doing it for money, initially at least, was a way of having the sex while avoiding the identity. Eventually that changed, but the sex/money dynamic was a great introduction for me. Later, a couple of friends followed my lead, one gay and one straight (really). They had good experiences as well. Hell, if your head’s in the right place and you find the right people to hook up with you can have some good and interesting experiences.

Fresh out of grad school, I was offered a job at one of the best, most prestigious offices in the country by another young architect who knew my porn work before he knew anything else I was capable of, and contacts I made at that office have served me very well over the years. Additionally, as you may have heard, it generally takes time for architects to make real money, so during this period I continued escorting (I probably would have done so anyway, as I liked the adventure.) and my first independent project came from friends of the owner of the agency I worked for. The sex business doesn’t necessarily follow one around, and if in some cases it does, it needn’t be bad, in fact it can be good. I did some porn and escorting in college and grad school, and am now a highly successful professional and sometime academic. My partner has always found my past a turn-on.
