I think the use of “raw” in this particular write-up might have an alternate meaning as in “abraded” or “bruised” (try putting the words “until it was” in front of “raw” to get what was probably the intended sense) rather than the more traditional porn meaning of “condomless.”

Either way, the sentence is unnecessarily ambiguous and confusing. That’s par for the course with most of these back stories.
