You’re so right about their website. It never changes so you can’t see the updates. I think that’s a huge reason they don’t get repeat business. Every once in a while I’ll go to the site to see if anything has changed, and it’s always the exact same homepage. The guys in the pictures are dudes that were featured years ago. How is that supposed to make me want to rejoin? It’s an amazingly bad business tactic.

They got into a rut by doing the same thing over and over. They attracted a loyal fan base of older men who like to see the same thing again and again because they’re able to form these imaginary relationships with the young kids who become mainstay performers on the site. I joined BSB once about 5 years ago and got bored quickly. Then when I rejoined last year to see what had changed, I quickly realized it was all the same. Same guys, even the same members who were blogging about the same pairings of the same actors. Snooze.

Now, they’re supposedly ‘new and improved’ but it looks the same to me. I see the skanky-looking futon is still there. Homophobia still seems to be the basic premise. So what’s different?

I think maybe gay people may be starting to tire of the insinuation that we are only supposed to be attracted to these so-called straight guys who are miserable over having to do gay things to pay the rent. There are too many alternatives for my porn dollar. Let the old men who hate themselves continue to flock to BSB to watch the kids from the trailer park wallow in misery to make a buck.
