I completely agree. I think beauty is something that is subjective. For instance, I sometimes find guys who remind me of people I’ve known and have pleasant memories of attractive. It may have very little to do with them being of “model” quality. But something about them is attractive to me.

It would be more accurate to say, “not my type,” which is personal, than to apply a blanket generalization of “ugly” to someone, which seems to speak for everyone.
