The problem with Bel Ami is the same problem with a lot of European producers. I HATE “display” fucking, where the top always keeps an inch out of the bottom and never hunkers down on him and gets ultimate body to body contact like in real life but holds back in poses that “look good”. Too much control in the direction, and ruins the actors too, ever mindful of what the camera is getting and indicating instead of feeling. Just let the guys slam deep, hard, lose it completely, that’s real and ultimately the most arousing.

I just had an argument in my head about whether or not I agree with the dildo-pretty assessment, but I think you’re right.
