Between her performance with Katy at the Super Bowl and the Hip Hop Honors, Missy is poised for a huge comeback. She really needs to capitalize on all this renewed interest in her music. You can’t keep dropping hot singles and then not come out with an album.

That’s funny about P!nk being one of the choices, since she and Christina had that falling out during Lady Marmalade. I wonder if she would ever do another R&B album. Probably not. I can imagine all the sideways looks she would get if she did, with people forgetting where she started. Jennifer seems an odd choice because of the age difference. I think we both know she really backed out because she knew her vocals weren’t shit.

I’ve never understood why one artist would call out another. Even if what you’re saying has some truth to it, there’s no need. It just makes you look petty and jealous. If you’re over here doing your thing and you know you’re killing it, why are you worried about what the next person is doing?

It really is fucked up that Janet had decades in the game over Justin, but she was the one who was railroaded. It took her a long time to overcome that stigma, and even now I doubt she would be asked back to perform, whereas Justin might some day. But I will say, those jokes about the situation were hilarious. “Wardrobe Malfunction” made it into the lexicon, and South Park. And Chris Rock’s bit during his comedy special still slays me.

I’m waiting for more Missy too, after “Pep Rally” and watching the Hip-hop Honors, and I hope her new music drops this year. P!nk & Jennifer Lopez were the 1st choices but both backed out due to scheduling conflicts (J-Lo allegedly backed out because of the wedding theme, it was during the height of Bennifer.) Speaking of P!nk, I miss her doing more R&B based music and I played that 1st album out. I always wanted “Split Personality” to be a single.

Xtina did an interview shortly after that ’03 VMA performance with Blender magazine where she called both Britney & Beyoncé “fake, superficial, performers.” Both were demanding headlines and she wasn’t having it.

I agree, Justin is a punk when pressed. Janet was scorned while JT was adored, it was really disgusting how she was treated.
