Oh, sorry, back on topic . . . I had very strange concerns about myself for liking The Golden Girls at first, but once I let myself just be okay liking it – as a fortyish Recon Marine – I got into it. What I didn’t like was that in the later seasons, the previously artful and somewhat delicate jokes got nasty. Rose had barely opened her mouth before one of the other three was yelling, “You’re an idiot!” Blanche had barely uttered a syllable before one of the others was yelling, “You’re a slut!” I liked it better earlier on, when it was less pointed and more loving. Jeez, I sound like a little pussyboy . . . was I ever really that Marine?! LOL BACK TO MARIO . . .

LOL When I was stationed stateside the last time and was living in Virginia, there was a channel that had The Golden Girls every night two episodes. That was my first introduction, after hearing about the show from some of my campier friends. What a guilty pleasure and so un-Marine-like to watch them!
