Someone commented on the previous Falcon post that they were annoyed at the discrepancy between the first pic and the actual update in every Falcon post. It just occurred to me how much of a relic it is, to do a box cover for something that is primarily no longer sold in boxes. I’m glad Falcon is still around, but they bring a lot of baggage with their history. Colt is the same way — you could see that they were basically still trying to do “silent films” twenty years after videotape made that obsolete. Now even videotape is obsolete, and these older studios just don’t have a convincing identity now. Bel Ami is an obvious exception, and I don’t think Falcon is as bad off as Hot House, but can you imagine if these major studios like hire someone with the erotic imagination of Black Spark? I can’t believe no one has hired that guy as their creative director, or at least someone like that.
