I agree, she does sound like she was having fun. It’s a very flirty, playful album. And I love how she weaves in and out of these different genres. One minute she sounds like she channeling P!nk or Bebe Rexha, the next it’s Aloe Blacc. But through it all it still sounds like Britney, and it doesn’t come across as pandering or imitation. She even had me pulling out my old French textbooks. Now I have Britney, Gaga, Adele, Rihanna and Solange in my car’s cd changer, so my drive to work is all diva’d out. I almost wish I had a longer commute.

Personal bias aside, I thought her album was one of the best releases last year. It’s very much on-trend with music of last year but unmistakably Britney. What really draws me back to “Glory” is how much fun she sounds like she is having thruout. For example on “Private Show,” it’s not the best vocal and I fully understand why many wouldn’t like this track, but I appreciate her for taking a musical risk there. It’s her Louisiana, Showgirl moment and she fully commits to it. It really does make for a good soundtrack while driving, especially at night, I’m glad you like. 🤗
