What separates Diego from ML is actually owning the studio he’s in.

I have seen interviews Phenix has done where he details his actual feelings. I have to say they are miles from the way the studios were casting him. I think that also his look just lent itself to those story lines, he does “aloof” without effort. In some cases that was even sexy. I’d have to agree typecasting was probably a real issue for him.

As for Dante, he is clearly taking his porn game to the next level and has been for a minute. The big advantage for him and the thing that will preserve his longevity is the fact he is versatile. I think if he wanted to he could easily eclipse Diego’s level. Part of the allure of Dante at least for me is that what you see is what you get. He never lacks commitment and so far his scenes are never boring.

As for Diego, I get the feeling he is at the crossroads in a lot of ways right now. Whether Marc likes it or not, bottoming again would be about his only way to stay relevant. Even his die hard fans have grown weary. I can see him moving into the production end of things, but that is reliant on whether he has the talent for it. As evidenced in the current GH debacle, being gay does not guaranty you have talent.

I think it was in the “stills” at that blog that can’t be mentioned. There was a definite Cheshire cat thing going on in the pic. I think Diefro has about run his coarse. If he keeps going he is going to be the next ML.

I recall something about him coming out as something a while back, but never paid much attention to it. I don’t think he was ever prepared to give up his straight cred.

I do love both of those things about Dante. And considering where he started and how limited he was, it great to see where he is now. He doesn’t seem to have any hangups about porn or who he is or who he has sex with, which is probably why his scenes don’t feel forced. Also probably why he has already worked with so many different studios.

At this point I don’t even want to see Diego bottoming again, because it would feel like a last ditch effort. Whatever spark he had for porn died a long time ago. It really feels like he’s only doing this still because of Marc.

No – but I did notice he was getting cozy with another model who was NOT Diefro at the recent porn awards. Kinda makes ya go Hmmmm.

I thought there were moments where Dante was really playing the part, but the scene itself had too many issues. For as long as it was, the camera work was pretty sloppy. And Shane seemed to be holding back a lot. I haven’t made up my mind about him. Hopefully the next entries are better.

Also, is WayBig just going to ignore that Next Door scene with Johnny and Dante? That shit was hot.

That’s the thing, he wasn’t always like that. It goes back to a comment I just made on Z’s site about Kellan/Callum. The scenes where Phenix was like that are the scenes where the studios had him playing it straight. So he didn’t have to sell the scene. He didn’t have to be intimate (which is something I thing he likes, but mentally struggles with). I could probably name a few scenes off the top of my head at various studios where he was engaged and connected to his partner. In fact Mr. “I don’t rim” actually ate ass in an early scene. I want to say it was Cocky Boys. He also was “open” to taking some pretty big dicks (like he did on Jake Cruise). If studios are paying you to be a “service me” top, and you’re already struggling with same sex feelings, it makes sense why you wouldn’t go above and beyond. At least not intentionally.

In saying all these, I guess it does make sense they gave Dante this series. Considering Phenix worked for practically every studio under the sun (many of which have long since gone dark) Dante is follow that same path.

Saint always seemed lazy and lethargic. Dante has a nice handle on things, he clearly does not have an issue letting his personal life affect the enjoyment of his job.

I wanted to preface this with the fact that Dante has always been a big favorite… I wish I had never witnessed his afinity for sex with women. Whether you’re interested or not, a comparison shows how into gay sex he really is. You would like to be able to think that without the money he would still be into sex with men. I’m not able to feel that’s the case.

Dante is definitely gay 4 pay. If you watch any of his scenes with women, the passion and enthusiasm he exhibits will tell you that he is using gay men to make a living, because he is just going through the motions when he is with men. Any partner he has in his private life, would certainly be a woman.
