I like to privately muse that seeing all those “economically anxious” white supremacists march in Charlottesville is why Dink* returned to porn. Gay men have been stereotyped to the endth degree in virtually every medium.

As much as I fucking LOVED the show “Will & Grace”, even the most “masculine” gay character in the show was “swish” by a lot of guys standards. Let alone the more popular Jack. Hell Karen was the most masculine character on that show – I love that bitch.

I could write a list that stretched on for pages. You can’t undo that kind of propaganda. Then of course you have the day to day use of the word as modern slang. “That’s so gay.”, “You are acting so gay”, “Those rules are so gay.” It’s endless. No matter how “PC” people try to be – it invariably slips out somewhere.

Then you have the flag waving Pride Parades, and for many of us they represent the best of our culture, hot men dancing on floats, marching in the streets, living it up.. it’s what we worked for right?

But for a growing group of guys, they don’t want ANY of that. They want to move through their lives as invisible as any hetero man. They don’t want to be identified with any of that because it doesn’t represent them, the way they feel about who they are.

So for this crowd, it is more palatable to claim no label, or “sexually fluid”. They are so traumatized by the images evoked by the moniker “gay”, they’d sooner drive nails through their balls than ever wear that label. To be honest, I am surprised they haven’t come up with a new term for gay men who don’t want to be thought of as “gay”.

I mean – what the fuck would you call it? Homosexual is also poison ground by association. Mascuventurous? SInglesexual? Mantastick? Butcherifick? Alphamalesque? Bro4Bro? ManlyMen? I fucking give up. So did they – so they pretty much stay with straight despite sucking your dick.

Everyone thought the sexual revolution peaked in the 80’s, that wasn’t shit. That was the warning shot across the bow. The most recent studies suggest 24% of “straight” men watch gay porn, and reports that 95% of gay men said they watched straight porn (Huh?).

Now given the likelihood most of the “straight” guys lied for fear some weird glitch would make their answer public, I think the real number would be somewhere around 75%, and that is still VERY conservative. Of those how many do you think are out there sampling the goods?

So given the landscape, I see a ton more confusion ahead. For those of us who already identify as gay, we may be the only sane ones left by the time the dust clears.
