After skimming some of the write-ups from 2012, I can say the style has been similar. The alliteration, the puns, the usage of “boys” are there. It probably becomes more apparent recently because those traits are now grossly exaggerated, at least in my opinion, and the appearance of a Helix-affiliated author in Taylor.

Meanwhile, I can’t really tell much about Taylor other than her twitter account has been active only since 2017 and His Own Way Out is her first-ever published book. Shoddy information gathering and hasty blaming, I know, sorry.

I think writeups benefit people who hasn’t signed up to the site yet more. Aren’t they only given limited access to stills and trailers? Other than that, since porn is visual-reliant and story mostly doesn’t work in porn, it doesn’t have much more of a function.

I agree with the burnout idea. Although they could’ve used different approach like giving shorter description instead of using uncommon words, it’s undeniable that they still try for it. Let people’s imagination fly!

I think it is hard at times, especially if they hold themselves to the standard of newness. This studio is almost 15 years old, and if they are at all self-conscious about repeating themselves, then it must be maddening trying to think of what to say. Then again, why in the world do they even try? Their first description was, “If unbridled bareback fucking is your thing …” then look at us. Honestly, that still says it all. Anyway, who is relying on written narratives when the stills and the trailer are right there?

It makes everything sound so silly. Writing sexy prose isn’t all that hard, so why they’ve decided to go this route is perplexing.

It was my understanding Taylor only does the Helix books, not the scene writeups. If someone knows otherwise I welcome the correction. If it is her, they should’ve never given her multiple book deals if the can’t even pull it together with these short stories. They’re terrible and all of the “boy” stuff when dealing with twink models is pretty unnerving.

I don’t wanna be too harsh, but this feels directionless and has terrible word usage it’s borderline offensive to literature works. Somebody needs to properly call her out and tell her to take a break from this until she can improve her writing.

I have to admit – the women’s attraction to this has me baffled as well. I could almost see it if the roles were reversed and you had guys like Dylan going HAM on guys like Josh dominatrix style. The only thing I can figure is they see the twinks as extensions of themselves in the scene.

Every time I think Sean Cody has the worst scene writeups, Helix comes along to prove me wrong. I can’t even imagine the women fans looking at this nonsense and thinking it’s erotic.
