Helix has no problem keeping a steady stream of hot twinks. I think its casting. These companies just want to maximize their profits. They don’t want to pay more to get hotter men if they feel it won’t matter much. Their subscribers likely just complain but stay due to the occasional hot scene. If every scene featured hot men, would their subscriber count significantly increase? Maybe they’ve done the math and it won’t matter as much as it seems. Maybe hiring average joes for little money is more profitable for them.

Agree Corbin Fisher ans Sean Cody were drastically better pre 2015.

I dont disagree totally about the marking aspect, but there are definitely less subscribers, people would rather simply steal the content, than pay for a subscription. Sites respond by lowering rates to laughable levels in some cases. Of course pay will be impacted. And in reduction of new scenes, noticeable at Sean Cody and Corbin Fisher. Sc used to have a new scnes every other day, and Corbin Fisher had 1 new gay solo and 2 new gay scenes per week (and if you paid 1 straight or bi scene per week) – now it’s every other day, with an old scene in the rotation.

I was trying to keep it brief so I didn’t initially acknowledge some of the points you’re now making, but we totally agree on many of those things. With the studios that I named (CF, SC, CM), my beef is about specific types of men and/or sexual features that they don’t do anymore which implies to me a loss of commitment or direction, and the complaint is a little different for each site. Comparably, CM used to discover men with longevity and legendary impact: Vander, Eli, Solomon, Taylor, Nash, Jaxton, Kristopher, Delaney, Carter Jacobs, Trevor Laster, Aries, Wren, Braxton — all of whom had careers on multiple sites, drew FANATICAL comments, or lasted for several years. And they all debuted within roughly a 2-year time frame, 2010-12. CM continued to create full-fledged stars after that: Griffin, Tegan, and most recently Sawyer. But the 2017-18 list is dramatically shorter in that regard than any previous two-year span unless there are guys I have overlooked. Maybe they’ll bounce back. The site I have by far the least hope for is SC.

I won’t argue with any of that. But I will point out that even some amateur stuff can be done well. In fact, some of the scenes I fap to most are amateur. I think that some people are just too critical overall. It’s like they expect every scene to have interesting dialogue, an engaging storyline, overloaded with passion and models doing this, that and the other, and a bunch of other demands. You can’t please everyone, but I think overall the industry today is quite good.

I know you’re a hardcore bareback fan. I like it too, but I will say I never expected the industry to get to that point. I remember when Dawson/Cody at Corbin Fisher came out, it was a big deal because it was bareback in a time period where it very rarely happened. Now it’s commonplace. But here we are, with some people getting outraged at practically every update that comes down the pike.
