Porn actors should have had their own version of SAG long ago. I suspect it is like any other field of business, it is hard to get any of the top performers on board, they are convinced it will adversely affect their bottom line in the end. Without them, the idea has no teeth. But they are failing to look at the big picture, without such an organized effort they will continue to struggle.

If such a guild existed, people like Nica Noell and Michael Lucas would both have been banned from porn years ago. Working conditions across the board would be safer, would include things like benefits and retirement. A structure for syndication and royalties would ensure many of the guys never had to struggle in their old age.

Right now most people think these scenes Sean Cody and Corbin Fisher have popping up on tube sites are stolen. That’s a joke, they are actually selling their older scenes off – or “leasing” them to the tube sites. The Models should be getting a percentage of that, lord knows they earned it. But they currently get the base “jack fuck all” they agreed to when they signed up.

These companies are making money hand over fist thousands of times over what they paid. You have to wonder when these damn models are going to wake the fuck up. Given that it is “porn” I am sure many think the idea is useless, as if they somehow agree to become human fodder when they enter the industry. Hard to imagine it is nearly 2020 and all of the porn industry is still back in the “wild wild west”.

Oh, I agree—porn is recession proof…and we ain’t in a recession. These studios are doing hella well and they have figured out how to make big money even in the era of tube sites. MindGeek didn’t pay a pretty penny for Sean Cody for shits and giggles….that purchase was akin to Facebook buying Instagram. It was a smart calculated acquisition. They knew they could weaponize Sean Cody to make more money than Mr. Cody already was and he wasn’t equipped nor interested in bothering to maneuver this new porn world. Jason over at Corbin Fisher still lives in a narcissistic bubble of grandeur and is still trying to play the game like it’s 2002.

But yes, to your main point. It’s a terrible shame how little the performers get. I’ve said time and time again, I don’t see how the industry gets away with performers not being in SAG—since they’re legally considered actors. I assume it’s because SAG would shut itself down before they let porn performers in and most performers aren’t smart/savvy enough to unionize and make a play for more rights in that arena or make their own guild.

Sex trade workers were dealt a huge blow when Rentboy was shut down three years ago. I could never understand that move. Doesn’t the FBI have bigger fish to fry? It was actually safe in the sense that performers could screen potential clients and it kept them off the streets. And authorities decided they needed to shut it down. Sad.

Honestly if she Married Shaw without doing her due diligence, it’s on her. The dude was all over the internet. I find it hard to believe she didn’t know. But on the outside chance that was true? You know – it isn’t a lack of love for Cole, just pissed off they still haven’t closed the deal on Jax – and at this point you can bet it is all about the money. These cheap fuckers (MindFuck) have painted this dire picture for the models, while raking it in hand over fist.
