Uh,..not really. LOL No one is authentically themselves. We each learn to play a part based on experiences and role modeling and how it seems we need to be to achieve our immediate agenda in the moment for control or approval, along with our primal desire to survive in the long term. When we are told to play a part different than the part we customarily play, BY HABIT, we are taken out of our comfort zone and moments of truth about who we really are comes forth. An extreme example is: we find out how much of a coward we might be if a situation occurs that requires us to be a hero. I realize that is all a bit metaphysical, but it is never-the-less true. I would know more of the truth of you if you acted out an assigned scene given to you, rather than you being the stereotype of yourself, which we all become. We play ourselves, by rote. How you react to the words given to you to speak, for example, would tell me more about you than the words you might speak, robotically. The opening banter is fun when you see it that way.

Don’t you find you are able to get a sense of the performers during the banter section of the updates, irregardless of how good or bad of an actor they are? In fact, the worse they are don’t you feel you get a sense of the performers as people? Like with Archie bumbling through his lines with Sean. Was he not ENDEARING? Are there not those moments of truth that let us sense how the performer is, as a person, as a human being, and not as a THING? Who is a jokester? Who is shy? Who is fearless? ETC. I think so. Porn is not a panacea. When we think it is we are disappointed and angry and seek to find fault in every way; for if those “faults” were not there then it would be the panacea we want (need) for it to be, we tell ourselves…ME THINKS.
