Listen, my father served in the Air Force in Alabama in the early 1960s, I know from him exactly what (white) Southern Pride meant in very specific terms. It meant that my father had to sit on the floor of the cab when riding with white airmen because even though the military was desegregated then, the commanding officers “followed the customs of their hosts.” No one showed any “malice” against my father; they just expected him to accept degrading treatment.

you have completely missed my point… I was referring to people talking about an Adult entertainer with a racist flag tattoo. its porn…. A lot of these performers support Trump, have right wing views , support crazy gun laws … … if they turn you on…they turn you on.. . its porn ! if you watch it then don’t bitch about it as its being made by people who maybe racist. bigoted and ironically homophobic etc .. thats my point.

I totally hear you. I don’t think we are obligated to research every dollar that we spend, but being basically well informed and responsible would be ideal. Related to what you’re saying, I think people hold entertainers to a higher standard because it’s more fun to read a porn news blog than to read political news and stay engaged. They’ll vote for their favorite adult film nominee but not vote in a midterm election. But that’s not true for everyone, and some people here probably do try to bring a certain vigilance to all of their transactions as best they can.

Most (iincluding myself) see the Civil War as the fight to end slavery. Some see it as the Southern States fighting for their State’s Rights. I am fully aware that I am flawed and have disappointed others. I am haunted by how I’ve disappointed my sisters, for example. So I don’t rush to cast stones because I am not without sin.
