It’s like the 80s all over again. The media is burying these statistics and reports – of course they are, PrEp cost some $3bn+ to develop – but those reports are all out there, you just have to search.
Moreover, the body builds up tolerance to PrEp, ditto to the cocktail of antiretrovirals – these need to be taken without any break to be effective – the new strains developing are resistant to drugs.
Pertinent questions to ask – the pool of gay men using PrEp is tiny, from a business perspective – less than 2% of the world population – why would Gilead, the patent holders invest so much money on a demographic that provides such small chance of financial return?
Why are the cases of conversion while on PrEp being buried.
Who is PrEp ultimately intended for?
And in the meantime the porn industry in search of a fast buck has abandoned all sense of safety, sanity and a new generation is furtively seeking out porn which celebrates behaviors which only lead to death.
