And with that boon came a lot of people who are registered as Democrats. That really factored into the last election for those counties which were typically more Republican.

My Mom’s best friend lived in Fishkill (Duchess) and that to me seemed like Canada, but you know what they called the prison there? The Downstate Correctional Facility. Yeah, Covid was a boon to suburban NY. Anyone that could did.

If the 911 regulations hadn’t changed, those RRD addresses would still be around. We lived in Putnam for a while, and as country as that was with the farms all over, I would roll my eyes so hard when people would say we lived upstate. Yeah, there weren’t any sidewalks when we first moved there, but it’s not upstate! lol

But I guess to city people (especially the ones who moved up because of La Rona) that’s part of the appeal. Open space, but still close to downstate.

Seriously, though, I grew up there — Pleasantville, Briarcliff, Chappaqua, Pound Ridge and even South Salem. It’s an extraordinarily green, rural suburban spread from the City. In an hour you’re in the country, but that doesn’t make it a “country house.” Our postal address in South Salem was RRD#2, “Rural Route Delivery,” you’d think it was Mayberry. That was RFD, Rural Free Delivery. Cuz even then, red states were taking more than they were giving back. Just saying.

It is to certain kind of idiots in the City. There may be a Berkshires place they go to as well, but that one house where they filmed so much is pure Pound Ridge.

Read somewhere he really loves getting pounded though, so maybe bottoming is also his real-life preference. But since he’s topped a few times in studio works, there’s still a chance he’ll do that again.

I’m not sure the people who are with Next Door now are the same ones who were there when Gabriel filmed. They probably don’t even know their back catalogue enough to know he was there in the early days.

CB is a commitment. You have to spend the week with JJ up in Westchester Co. And he can’t just scoot up to Montreal like he used to.
