For the record, I just watched Ian top Dolf Dietrich, and Ian did not last long (which I actually find sexy) and came from fucking. Twink Top is a bit of a mixed bag but rarely bad — just not always as good as they could be. I’m generally impressed by them, and the twinks are consistently elevated in my estimation by their involvement with the site.

lol, only if it stopped around 2003. I really miss being the music savant I used to be. MTV had a “name that tune”-style game show at one point, and I thought the show was laughable because it was too easy for me. Now when I go to the gym, what little contemporary music I hear before I put my earbuds in sounds unlistenable. It’s hard for me to imagine anything on the radio now being of interest to anyone in five years.

I was being a little “inside baseball” (speaking of old — that’s an ancient expression essentially meaning excessively nerdy) by referring to Flyte Tyme. That’s simply Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. Now if you don’t know who they are, then you must not know much music trivia! But not knowing that Flyte Tyme was their label and their production company is totally excusable. It just means you didn’t obsessively read Janet Jackson’s liner notes the way I did. I mistakenly assumed they spelled it Time like their old band when they worked for Prince, but apparently not.

Anyway, Murder Inc. was the production moniker associated with producer Irv Gotti. From 1999 to the mid 2000s, he had tremendous success with Ashanti and Ja Rule, including collaborations with J-Lo. The video version of “I’m Real” was a Murder Inc remix, and the subsequent single “Ain’t It Funny” failed to chart on the Hot 100 until Murder Inc remixed it, at which time the remix became a #1 song and was even #13 on the year-end chart and #62 on the decade-end chart. “Rainy Dayz” by Mary J Blige was also a Murder Inc collab. Long story short, Gotti was briefly as prolific as Pharrell/Neptunes, but the company was subjected to a money laundering investigation that seemingly ruined them even though they were found not guilty. I don’t know for sure if that’s what ended their success or if they had other problems, but after 2005ish, they ceased to be a real force from what i can tell.

Someone else said I was being harsh about Ashanti. I do in fact like her songs a lot, but she was such a product of the Murder Inc franchise. Someone could say the same about Janet and Flyte Time, but she had so many hits and was such a force in music video that I don’t think anyone can say anything other than that she’s not as powerful a vocalist as this or that person (which is true of a lot of hitmakers, and who cares, really). But if I’m selling Ashanti short, then I retract the snark.

The daddy/boy thing has so inseminated my brain that I can’t credibly scoff at Ian even when he’s not doing enough. Watching daddies fuck him turns me on despite my better judgment. I guess I’m repeating myself now, so I’ll shut up. Have a great weekend!

Oh I meant to agree with you, that Cole is extremely good. No need to comb for reasons to compliment him. All of the good qualities are right there on the surface of every scene. I used to not give a shit about versatility. In fact, I used to argue with people about that. But there is something unbearably hot about knowing that you are going to watch (or have sex with) a very hot guy, and whatever you are in the mood to do or have done, that guy is up to the job. “Cums from fucking” was the only thing missing from his resume.

I want to like Ian so much because I think he is pretty attractive, and he benefits from good costar casting. I’m not going to like him until he ups his game, but as flaws go, I prefer this to Dante Colle’s flaw of saying yes to scenes that have no hope of being any good. Dante is willing to lend his name to total garbage, whereas Ian is kind of Keanu-esque, rarely elevating a movie with his own performance but surrounding and elevating himself with the talent of other people. I think I’ve used Ashanti in that analogy before.
