I mean, when guys are new to porn, they used this “serviced” vids to break the ice and make them more “comfortable” with gay sex (supposing the model is straight) and on camera action (straight, gay or whatever). I remember even enjoying them, esp if the guy serviced was hot enough to carry this kind of scenes. In fact, SC for instance, I liked the solo and ‘just oral’ videos. They hired presumed hot straight guys that probably just wanted a quick check and, if it wasn’t for these, we would never have enjoyed looking their great bodies and handsome faces.

But when you are presenting already famous porn actors (even stars when we’re talking about Cliff Jensen) and just present this, is very underwhelming. That is the thing you are talking about paying less and filling the calendar. It is mildly infuriating.

I grant you that the first person who popped into my head was Cooper Reed, and when I looked back, I was surprised to see that there was no solo or oral scene with him. But I trust my memory more than I trust Bryan, who has some huckster in him.

There was a time where BO mentioned it on one of his TMI captions that he did these Service videos to see how good a model does on cam before getting them to fuck but there was also a time when he said he skipped the service video because of how the model had done several work outside of CM.

Hm … I miss what CM used to be too, but you’re revising history a little bit. Seeing if the model was camera ready was always the pretense, but Brian was locked into Monday-solo, Wednesday-oral, Friday-fucking no matter who the model was. Now I grant you, a signature of the site was discovering new talent rather than recycling models from other sites, but they made exceptions. I know I remember some “why is this guy doing a solo?” or “oral?” complaints on this board about models who had no need for a screen test. The theory was that they pay less for oral scenes and used them to pad the calendar.

But I agree with your larger point, that the new owners are unprincipled. This scene is actually better quality than I’ve come to expect from them, sadly.

And for people here who haven’t been following Chaosmen in its early days, I suggest you go save any scenes that contain Darius, Taylor, Jerome, Glenn, and the guys they’re paired with before they erase all that like SC did.
