big facts. i can think of a several off-studio scenes that seemed to have chemistry/energy between the performers but then the same performers for their in-studio performances seem tired and fucking by the numbers. i dont know if it is the in-studio scene breaks the ice so the off-studio stuff has the “i don’t know this person” feelings out of the way or if chemistry is developed as part of the in-studio stuff and carries over into the off-studio. whatever the reason, you are correct the in-studio stuff should be good used as a calling card to get people to their off-studio work. i definitely feel cheated when i follow a performers fan sites and the scenes are good but lack that in-studio camera work or lighting and then once the performer is at a studio with the lighting and camera work, their performance is either muted or restrained or in some cases just bad.

It’s such an annoying imbalance, whether it’s on the studio side or the fan site side. The performance inconsistencies are very hard to weed out.

True. Sometimes though, it’s the models who put more into their off-studio efforts than their in-studio efforts. Which makes no sense, because the studio work is free promo for their fan sites. Then again, some of them are doing so man collab work, their burned out by the time they hit the studio. Not to mention, those who do their collab work the night before their studio scenes, because they got a paid flight to area…

if i had to guess, i would say that it is the studio via direction from the directors is what stifles the performers performances. it is really frustrating. it would be like owning a ferrari and only using it to go to the grocery store 5 minutes away from your home.

Which is also infuriating, because models shouldn’t be better on their own time, but be lackluster on studio time.

first, “robowhores” hahaha. second, I can definitely can see that. i get that feeling as well for most of the BA models, but there are a few of exceptions, viggo, jack, yannis, derek. some of their OF content is less robotic ngl.

i imagine studio and OF subscriptions are like gym memberships, people subscribe and forget they have the subscription. So, the studio or OF model is getting paid regardless of the quality (and quantity) of content produced. i know during the beginning of the covid lockdown, i got pretty bad at “ill sub to XX and ill cancel it right away if i dont like it”. i’d of course forget and next thing i know it has been a few months, im still subbed and not even checking the content.

then it sounds like you have years worth of research to do hahaha the game could definitely be expanded to other studios in general. hell you could actually include cammers as well.

BA has pretty models, but I’m usually left with the feeling of having watched pretty robowhores who are programmed to make the sex.

LOL! That certainly can happen sometimes especially when you get real busy with life. A lot of studios rely on their back catalog to get more subs, especially during the height of the pandemic. So even if their current scenes easily end up on free sites, they can still get lots of people to sub. As for SC, they’ve relied on their back catalog for years that’s why they barely make effort with their current updates. Removing their old scenes definitely took its toll on SC as evidenced by the decline on their site traffic.

Well… If Men piggybacked on that Belami collab and went with SC outside the US, I’m sure they do also went with them on Palm Springs.

My knowledge of BA models is fairly limited, but I’d gladly watch other people play that game while I’m sitting off to the side, drinking a citrusy alcoholic beverage.

Monopoly. It’s all about making more money off of these smaller, independent studios. They don’t care about making quality content.

Don’t underestimate a studio’s ability to earn money through subs and other various means. We may think that studios like Men is terrible, but you’d be surprised at how many fans are willing to subscribe to them and the same goes for other studios. And let’s not forget that there will always be countless new fans every day who have yet to have the same standard for quality as long-time porn consumers like us. These people wouldn’t know how terrible SC has become under MG. So by purchasing other studios, MG gets all the profit those studios make. And because they are in control of the studio’s brand, they can use it to their advantage and piggyback on the studio’s popularity to make more money. Like, how they use SC’s name to sell apparel for instance. Or use the studio’s hotter models and scenes in the past to entice new porn fans to subscribe. Purchasing studios is obviously beneficial to porn conglomerates, otherwise they wouldn’t bother to do so. Sean Cody would’ve been dissolved by now if it’s not making enough money for MG.

In such a low barrier entry, I can’t comprehend why MG is purchasing porn studios. No doubt some Clay-like guy can bust in, entice some 20-something twunk to bottom, and make a “halfway” decent video. It’s not like MG studios are providing better scenes. I must say, BelAmi is still going strong after more than 30 years. I can’t help but be envious of George Deroy’s dick. There has been some amazing models and Bart Cuban is well above their standard.
