I think they have been great in terms of casting. Well, casting prettiness. And that’s all they care about most of the time. But in those greatness bursts that you describe, they either luck up on someone spectacular or they briefly put someone in charge who wants more than the status quo. But there’s also the question of charisma, which I think Lukas and Adam had and which, I don’t know, seems like lightning in a bottle. I guess it’s more than luck since Sean Cody found it several times in the span of about 24 months.

If only someone like him would take the time to train the next generation how to do it.

Yesterday I was watching Lucky Lukas. And all these memories went back. Bel Ami is probably the most consistent gay porn studio in many matters. But obviously is not in an ‘excellence’ level all the time. The greatness comes in waves. I have the feel right now, like you, that is not in the very best shape possible right now. Bel Ami needs something interesting, special, edgy, you named it. The last years has been ‘Bel Ami’ good, but not great. Far from it.

I started a comment before anyone had replied to this update, but I never posted it because I really had nothing to say except “wow.” But Pierre looked so handsome here that it threw me for a loop. Bel Ami did briefly become really edgy ten years ago with the twins and the Vatican stuff. I wonder if they will ever decide to get edgy again in an interesting way? Obviously, I’m thinking creampies, but there must be other stuff. Even matching one bottom with three tops would be really unusual and daring for them.
