This scene was intended for Gay men who enjoy slapstick comedy, à la Lucille Ball. Not every MEN scene is slapstick. The next one most likely will not be. It makes sense to judge a scene based on the director’s intention. For example, would one judge Schindler’s List as a comedy, or American Pie as a drama? Does this slapstick scene succeed as slapstick? It looks like it does to me. Do I personally like slapstick? It depends on what mood I’m in. If I’m depressed and need a laugh then I’m all in, or if I’ve gotten too serious about things and need to get lost in some silliness.
