Ooh, that’s interesting. You prompted me to unearth a memory or two about this company. Just for my own pleasure, I once wrote down a timeline of condomless porn, documenting when the studios moved to condoms in the 80s. (Rick Donovan fucked raw as late as 1991 in Falcon’s The Big Ones.) Then I tried to establish when they began to re-ditch the condoms. Surprisingly, that was harder to document because there was just more porn, more amateur participation, and more ways to distribute and “redistribute,” which led to a lot of information corruption. But if I’m not mistaken, the company that is now called Helix descended from the one called HotStuds, which began doing bareback porn in 2004. (I tried to verify that on IAFD, but they have two different pages for Helix, one of which combines HotStuds releases with theirs, and one which does not.) That was a built-in reason for me to care about them even when I didn’t like the models. Despite that, I didn’t remember until just now, looking through the archives, that they were still doing a mixture of bareback and condom releases as late as 2017 (or later still?). That’s downright weird to me.

This studio continues their downward spiral, especially with Max Carter being fired for fucking Silas’ twin brother, but the level of models they’ve hired recently is no where near the level of quality they used to have with the stable of Joey, Angel, Blake, Trevor, Kane, Cameron, Tyler, Evan… where’s Josh Brady these days???

The lack of quality (a gaping wound FFS?????) is just too much for a once-heralded studio.

So sad.
