I concede that. But I think that even 20 years ago, someone like Sean Cody was pouring money into his enterprise because it was a labor of love. There are new challenges now, but personally (this is just a theory), I think that every generation potentially has its Sean Cody’s, and it’s just a question of whether they love it enough to overinvest. I always believed that Jake Cruise did that in the beginning of Cocksuremen, making that the other kind of “pump and dump”: He pumped up the value of the brand, then dumped it, and now it’s still milking that initial investment for some other owner.

After writing that, I visited the site, and I am genuinely shocked that they have taken those old scenes and labeled them with new dates to create the illusion that they are producing new content. Those scenes are over a decade old!

This studio is beyond hope of interesting me, so I wasn’t even going to comment. But I disagree. The key word in your statement is “recruited.” Whatever so-called recruiting Mindgeek is doing involves hiring whoever is within reach. Actual recruiting would involve going to gyms and modeling websites or wherever the real Sean Cody found his models. The guy who used to do those Pumping Muscle videos found guys who probably never did anything like that again. It’s possible to persuade people to do something they never considered. I once threw a dance party, and went to a rugby field that morning and got a perfect stranger to dance at the party for 200 dollars. It’s much easier than you think when you have a company that gives a shit.

I think the issue is SC using a half-assed method to get new models. It’s one thing if these content creators are coming here because there’s a certain model on the team they want to fuck. But…there is no team. There is no roster. They’re here to make some quick money, get more exposure, and (probably) use the covered airfare and lodging to make connections for future fan scenes for their own site. Nothing wrong with that, except the scenes being given aren’t noteworthy. There hasn’t been a single one of these creators who has arrived and turned in an amazing performance. Most of the time they’re either giving what they’ve already been giving on their own platform, or they’re giving less than, because they’re not in control of who they’re partnered with, and the chemistry isn’t there. How many times has a model arrived and said they liked a specific position, or body type or sex act or whatever, and the site goes in the complete opposite of that?

It would make more sense for Sean Cody to lean into the content creator thing completely. Gather the models who want to film together, let them figure out who wants to do who, and more importantly, how they want to do it. At this point the directors are doing more harm than good. It’s basically just the site giving people a place to fuck for a few hours. Might as well go all the way with that since the “directing” they currently do is pretty garbage.

Edit: Also, you’re paying guys who already fuck other men for money, to do a solo? For why? You could tack on an interview to a regular duo scene if you want people to get to know them. You only have these guys in town for a limited time. Why not maximize the potential output?
