Also, that’s possible, but I don’t know how much MG is to blame for Deacon’s forgettable performances. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him do anything with gusto, with true enthusiasm, or pull off some kind of feat that makes me think he actually wants to be there.

People love to complain about gay4pay actors, but I’ve seen plenty of less attractive “straight” models who leave a much bigger impression (with sizzling chemistry!) than Deacon does – even if his body is absolutely 10/10.

I’ve said it before, MindGeek trying to monopolize porn will not turn out well. Porn is a low barrier entry market and integration of studios does not provide the same level of quality it’s subscribers are accustomed to consuming. Sadly, what made SC great (e.g. talent acquisition) evaporated as soon as MG took over because they preferred quantity over quality. I’m hoping ECP’s acquisition of MindGeek will mean a new direction.

I think Donovan/Deacon is actually a good performer but the editing is about as spicy as flour. ECP has, what the legal world refers to as a “fuck-ton” of money, but it’s leadership is relativity untested when it comes to this market. It’s clear they need to skew away from MindGeek’s meat processing plant mentality, so if they can hire someone with the capability of executing a vision for these studio, there might be hope.
