2000s porn is never coming back. Millennials/Gen X who did porn did so thinking that it would be locked away under password-protected niche gay porn sites. Also, after SC was sold to MindGeek, there’s no interest in casting the way Sean did. It’s just a business for them. I think it’s possible that whoever does casting could try to find “old school SC types” but it’s probably more money and effort than it’s worth to MindGeek.

I hadn’t considered the impact of social media on people’s willingness to do porn, so that’s a fair point, but on the flip side I would say we’re more sexually liberated and accepting of sex work than we were 20 years ago, so that might actually reduce barriers to men doing porn.

Personally I think the rise of Of and the democratisation of porn has what really contributed to studio decline. And, of course, corporate consolidation into the hands of MindShit.

I get what you’re saying but you all have got to let this go. There’s no such thing as “SC material” anymore and there hasn’t been for awhile. We have to stop acting like things like social media and OF haven’t resulted in the change in amateur studio porn. Thanks to social media, the old school days of amateur studio porn are not coming back. Why? Because there is no longer the option to keep your porn work separate from your personal life like there was in the past. Once the rise of social media took place and porn viewers started obsessing over models to the point of finding out the real names of models, invading model’s personal lives by tracking them down on their personal/private social media etc.–notice this scared many of the amateur studio models off from the industry.

There also was a time when a model’s porn content had to be accessed through a paying subscription/membership in order to be viewed. For those remaining models that stuck around even with social media coming around, probably got scared off once membership porn content started being easily accessed for free via a simple search engine search. Keep in mind we are talking about amateur porn models. Many of those models were likely not comfortable with their porn content now be able to be so easily accessed by family, friends, strangers etc. with a simple search. These changes with the times have not only caused those glory days type models to leave porn but has also deterred new models from entering the industry. Then there are those that have no desire to do studio work and only interested in doing OF type content.

I say all that to say this, if SC could pull the models it did in the past and continue making the content that put it at the top in terms of amateur studio gay porn, I am sure SC would have continued doing just that. However, SC is a business that has do to what is needed, including changing with the times, in order to stay in business. You all keep coming to SC posts over and over again saying how this isn’t the old SC this and this model isn’t SC material that, when it’s not going to change the reality that the old SC is not coming back because SC can’t bring it back.
