Out into the night, the Angel meets a new client who recently moved in with his girlfriend. He’s a student, nervous and ambitious, but short 3 million pesos to finish his semester. The pressure is starting to show. Calmly, the Angel explains that for a first-time client, he can lend no more than 1.5 million — and only at high interest. The young man swallows hard, realizing his options are limited. Still, the Angel studies him carefully, wondering if there might be another solution after all.
