Surprise Visit: The Brooks Family Vol. 2

Josh Reaper and I were watching a game on TV when Dad let us know he was leaving for a while to get Lane from the airport and would be gone for a while. When Josh got up to go to bed he said, “Don’t stay up too late…” I responded, “Yes dad.” Thinking that it’s an inside joke that Lane and I call him “dad”, because he seemed more like a third parent than our oldest brother, but deep-down inside I have a great respect for him and the burden he has carried all our lives through the ups and downs, making sure all of us were well. Funny, I think sometimes his best career would be in the military as a drill sergeant. Recently, he told me to cut him some slack, that he knows that Josh is tightly wound, but he’s a great guy, and protects everyone’s best interest.
