I agree with most of what you said kd. I think Myles is cute in adorkable way:) The scene was okay, would have preferred condoms on the models, but I think it would have been scorching if Curtis was on the top. You know Sean Cody never pairs two models together in a scene more than once, so Curtis topping Myles, on screen, is not going to happen. I like versatility, but just wish Curtis would top more. elmtree, our original marathon debate was in the ChaosMen 12-8-10 update even though we were discussing Corbin Fisher. It followed through to other updates for Corbin Fisher and various sites, though the discussion was always about Corbin Fisher. My original beef with Corbin Fisher was actually what I justifiably viewed as a customer-demeaning (and even somewhat homophobic — whether intentionally or not) double-standard between ACS and ACM, namely that the guys could only fuck bareback if there is a girl around. You and others said that this was strictly business 101 (your term), and that it was designed as a lure to get guys who wouldn’t otherwise sign up for ACS to do so. While I don’t have time to continue searching, you did indeed still point out that we never know for sure what is going to happen. So that proves your contention that you never made an “I can guarantee you that there is NO way” kind of statement, and I was wrong in suggesting otherwise. (I do recall several posters insisting tersely and flat-out that guys would NEVER bareback on Corbin Fisher without a girl in the room. That was the general, ultimately incorrect consensus , but I don’t have time to keep searching for specific posts right now. And it’s not worth the time anyway; as you say this is just an opinion-filled porn blog, after all).

@CalRegularGuy – Excellent outline at other factors besides barebacking that could be the primary drivers of any decline in model quality.

Count me as one of those who thinks model quality has diminished since Sean Cody starting doing BB vids and as one who wouldn’t mind at all if they could secure hotter guys by allowing them to fuck with condoms.

My general feeling on bareback is that I slightly prefer it, so it’s just not all that important to me. I would expect that you would get stiffer erections in bareback scenes but that doesn’t seem to pan out. I’m all for harder cocks and fewer shots or parts of scenes where the guys are “wobbly”, as our friend Bryan likes to say. If going bareback solves that problem, then I’m all for it. And to think that just because a guy is ugly or gay he’ll fuck for free is a pretty fucked up view, and from what I’ve read the thought process of Sean Cody (at least in the past) w/ how they treat their gay models. But remember? Myles is straight… LOL Anyway, yes look at CM as an example, and weep. But everyone, including you, knows I quantified my opinion by specifically noting it was my opinion. I just don’t see why its so horrible to state an opinion. You make it sound like world is coming to an end if someone on a porn blog states, “I don’t think such and such will happen”, or gives the opinion, “bb could be causing a drop in model quality”. Why do we have to “tread lightly” or worry about leaping to “assumptions”? This is a porn blog where people express opinions in passing. Jonny, there are a lot of counter points I could make but I think I clearly made then in my prior post…namely that I FULLY agree none of us casual observers know anything for sure. I fact is basically peppered thru out my post.

The only specific comment of yours I’ll address is your observation that whenever you make a comment its a “passive position”. What is passive about basically telling us with a different opinion we are wrong or we need to substantiate our position to prove our point, or or position is too strong of a suggestion our too big of a leap? Reading your replies, you don’t sound like a “passive” wall flower to me!

Finally, just for the record, my initial comment about “bring back condoms if you have to” sounds pretty passive to me. The very fact I state, “IF YOU HAVE TO”, is my way of saying I don’t know what is causing us to be subjected to a model like Myles, but IF its because of bb, bring back condoms. Yes i’ve indicated I think bb could prevent some models from returning and you’ve even noted SOME models have verified this. Just seems like neither of or positions/opinions are proveable or substantiated. Neither of us appear to be making a statement of fact. And certainly neither of us are any more “passive” or more right or wrong than the other. These are my OPINIONS

elmtree, a suggestion that something is going on (namely you, dio and others strongly suggesting that the BB is a likely reason for deterioration in model quality — “bring back the condoms if you have to”), is a bigger leap than the kind of more passive position I’m taking — namely, that average model quality *isn’t* necessarily deteriorating much (if at all), and that even if it is we just can’t presume to know whether BB is causing a lot of the cuter guys to say, “not gonna do it.”

As for what evidence I have that BB is NOT affecting things: Again, I’ll point out that Corbin Fisher sure has not been losing their top models since doing guy-guy BB, and that includes “old timers” from the condom-only days like Dawson, Connor and Cain. And who would have thought that the first BB at Sean Cody would include beautiful Brandon? No, none of this *proves* anything, but it’s suggestive. Reading your earlier comments, Dio’s and others, I was starting to pick up that “we know for sure what’s going on” vibe from 1.5 years ago when everyone was insisting up and down that I was absolutely nuts to think that Corbin Fisher would EVER let the guys BB without a woman in the scene (except on the occasional DVD).

My main point is that — in the absence of any hard facts falling in our laps — we have to tread lightly about assertions that the increasing BB is more than a minor (downward) influence. Conjecture is valid, assertions/assumptions aren’t (though of course anyone is able to assert whatever they want, even our Kenya-born president :)). Otherwise we’re back to a new version of “I can guarantee you there is absolutely NO way Corbin Fisher is ever going to do guy-only BB.” You never know what’s coming down for sure unless maybe you’re in the business; or know someone who is; or have hard evidence that just happens to fall in your lap (e.g., more than a couple hot guys saying that the BB is keeping them from performing).

Actually maybe Myles is close to, say, “Helix” quality. Sure has a thin, super-twinky build. Some people like that, but it’s not right for SC. And it’s not common for them either, BB or not.
