Wendy of all people should’ve been able to put out a good Aaliyah movie. Her involvement with that sorry effort is almost as bad as Angela Bassett’s involvement with that Whitney movie.

I was too, according to Suge Knight she wanted to go completely street under N.I.N.A. Her appearance on 106th & Park, w/Knight, was super uncomfortable though. I need to give “Block Party” a listen, I have that album somewhere.

Oh wow, this is the first time I’m hearing of this dream. I forgot Zendaya was the initial lead of that mess, she made the right choice to bounce. Wendy’s mentions were in shambles that night as well, it’s all coming back to me now.

Lil’ Mama did such an amazing job as Lisa from start to finish, and I’m glad she was able to shut people up as well. I too thought Keke as Chilli was just okay and Drew made for a very pretty-looking T-boz, but that was it, nothing really remarkable about them. Pebbles is a complete mess still and deserves all the lashings.

I was really excited to see what Lisa was going to do at Death Row. I haven’t heard Block Party in years, but I remember liking it. Her “N.I.N.A” persona seemed interesting.

Those were good Blaque songs. The “808” is will pop into my head at the most random moments. I also liked “I Do” with Lisa, and “Bring It All To Me” (the album version with JC/NSYNC).

The dream was brought up in an interview not long before she died. I thought they mentioned on the BTM, but I might be remembering that wrong. It was a dream about floating, being followed and some other stuff. Very creepy. That movie was so terrible. I can’t believe Wendy was involved with that trash. Zendaya made a good move dropping out of that project. The TLC movie was much better, though they left out lots of stuff, and changed other things. Lil’ Mama did her thing as Lisa. I was not expecting that. She had her look and mannerisms. That totally redeemed her after that tragic VMA incident. Keke made an okay Chilli. The other girl look like T-Boz. Pebbles deserved to get dragged and pulled for that stuff she did to those girls. Married to the head of the label and greedy as fuck. Even after she became saved she was still not owning up to her shady behavior. I never knew there was beef between Chilli and Pebbles because Pebbles thought Chilli was sleeping with L.A. Apparently Chilli was putting that pussy to work to make up for her lacking vocals.

Left-Eye’s documentary, detailing what would be her final days, was so riveting. It took me a week to shake off that final scene though. “This is how you can sell 10 million records and be broke! Now get ready to do your math.” One of the best quotes about the music industry ever. Yeah, Natina Reed’s death was so sad & eerie because of her role as the rapper in Blaque too. I still use “808” & “As If.”

Yeah that song is so hard to decipher the proper lyrics. Even with the line I quoted, I’m not sure if it’s “Peace to Soul-Train” or “Beats from Soul-Train” but I like the latter better so I use that. 😄 I was going to mention liking “Age Ain’t Nothin’ But a Number” but knowing what we know now, it’s just all sorts of gross. Plus R.Kelly’s background vocals are so loud the song is practically a duet. I may need to revisit that BTM because I don’t remember Aaliyah having some sort of premonition or one being said from anyone on her behalf, Left-Eye definitely mentions one. Dash came across so sincere I didn’t even think it was gross but now that you mentioned it, I can see it being very pervy. I didn’t even finish that Lifetime mess on her life. (VH1’s TLC movie I watched the hell out of. Poor Pebble’s social media mentions that night.😂)

Left Eye’s death was a hard one too. But at least with her she died doing something she loved. She really was a gentle, caring soul. I was shocked when I learned her protege from Blaque, Natina Reed had died a few years ago. Also in a car accident. I think she wasn’t that much older than Lisa when she passed.

I still crack up thinking of that “L-I-Y-A-H” lyric. Back then I was like “What the heck is she spelling?” I’m still not even sure that’s the lyric, because I’ve also heard people say it’s “L-I why A-H (with the A & H referring to her initials). Lol, who knows. Every girl was trying to rock that look with the hair parted over one side and the dark glasses. “Resolution” made me want to go out and buy some green contacts (and of course I did, and still do once in a while). “I Care 4 U” is a great song. The Dash thing grossed me out. First R. Kelly and then him. It felt like these older pervs kept taking advantage of her. Still wonder if there were really engaged. And not too long ago Dash said Jay tried to date her, but he nixed that. Unlike that Princess of R&B garbage biopic, the Behind the Music was well done. I can’t remember if that quote about that prophetic dream she had was there or somewhere else. I think Left Eye had a similar dream before she died.

I didn’t know Britney and Gwen were neighbors. They must have a blast together. Maybe Britney might dip her toe in the country market.

You just reminded me how tough the fall of ’01 was, Left-Eye’s death was another moment I’ll never forget where I was. I was crushed, she was my favorite member and TLC was the 1st girl group I stanned before that word was apart of our lexicon. Lisa, like Aaliyah, was taken away from us way too soon and had so much more to give. I see shades of Left-Eye in Nicki Minaj and she has listed her as an influence.

“I got jazz personality, G mentally, beats from Soul-Train.” That line still makes me act up and was my introduction to her street but sweet sound and persona. Her look & vibe was so trendsetting and still holds up today. Whenever a female has long, silky, sheen black hair that covers one eye we all know who that arrow points to. I really loved “We Need a Resolution” and like you wanted the album off that alone, I also loved “I Care 4 U.” Watching her Behind the Music was actually informative because I had no idea she was dating Damon Dash until he was interviewed for that. She definitely was a star on the cusp of superstardom, turning into a full on entertainer with movie projects lined up. Missy, Timberland, and Aaliyah’s chemistry is still unmatched.

Britney & Gwen are friends for the most part already, they’ve talked about being neighbors and having playdates with their kids. Britney has mentioned wanting to work with Gwen for awhile now so I hope that ends up happening and if Pharrell is on board I’m all for it.

Britney dropped the ball big time with that video, I watched that clip once and that was already too much. First time I hit the dislike button… almost.
