Lots of people can say things on paper, but then they feel differently when presented with a real-life situation. I’d say we’ve had different experiences and formed different perceptions.

My mistake for misreading the numbers, which is a better increase. I still don’t think numbers are necessarily reflective of what we’re seeing taking place in the real world now, especially given the current political climate. But you’re right, nothing more needs to be said.

2001: 57 percent *oppose* gay marriage, 35 percent support it.
2016: 32 percent *oppose* gay marriage, 62 percent support it.

You are misreading it as an increase in support from 57 to 62 percent, but the correct reading is an increase from 35 to 62. In 15 years, the country turned completely upside down on the core belief that marriage equals one man and one woman. If you can’t acknowledge that as meaningful progress, then nothing more needs to be said.

Just a few years ago a Corbin Fisher model killed himself because people in his town found out about his porn work. The Supreme Court just told us that yeah, gays can get married, but proprietors can legally refuse their business. Porn, especially gay porn, is still viewed in a negative light. Homosexuality is still viewed in a negative light. Things have changed, sure, but not that much.

Those stories get repeated years later. Kim K’s sex tape still gets brought up. It’s even harder to live that stuff down because people will always throw it in your face. The same with porn models. You can be out the of the game for years and someone will put your previous career on blast.
