I think those days are gone. Half the reason gay porn has taken such a hit talent wise is that the money just isn’t there. It’s a situation that has pretty much decimated BSB, that site is a smoldering husk of what it once was. It is an industry wide issue right now. Many of these sites have been the master of their own demise flooding tube sites to the point they can’t effectively police it any more.

Common sense would say the last thing you want to do when dollars are supposedly tight is start 4 more half assed sites with all the same models, yet that seems to be the trend. Why would I argue that? There are lots of reasons why models don’t show up. You made a comment that basically attitudes about sex work and nudity have relaxed. That’s not the case. You also wrote about attitudes softening with respect to homosexuality. That’s also not the case. The Supreme Court just told us that yeah, gays can get married, but proprietors can legally refuse their business. Porn, especially gay porn, is still viewed in a negative light. Homosexuality is still viewed in a negative light. Things have changed, sure, but not that much.

We’re not having a meaningful conversation now because the “nothing I write” problem is fully on display in how you misread the data. But just for anyone else still reading this:

2001: 57 percent *oppose* gay marriage, 35 percent support it.
2016: 32 percent *oppose* gay marriage, 62 percent support it.

You are misreading it as an increase in support from 57 to 62 percent, but the correct reading is an increase from 35 to 62. In 15 years, the country turned completely upside down on the core belief that marriage equals one man and one woman. If you can’t acknowledge that as meaningful progress, then nothing more needs to be said.

Lots of people can say things on paper, but then they feel differently when presented with a real-life situation. Just because someone says they’re for gay marriage doesn’t mean they can’t be for the idea but against the actuality living next door to them, or running their child’s daycare, or whatever. But if you think polling numbers trumps what is being presented in the news and in politics, nothing I write is going to influence you to think differently. Our experiences shape our perceptions. I’d say we’ve had different experiences and formed different perceptions.
