I’d say it’s because there’s a huge lack of sex education in the US and Europe (my country probably being at the top). There’s this misinformation that you won’t get HIV if you use PrEP and that’s false, also because it’s just an excuse to get rid of the condoms since they’re “ugly”, but condoms weren’t invented to be showed off as some kind of jewellery.
