I’m inclined to agree with elmtree. The analogy is way off, and the logic is flawed. While many cancers and diseases are somewhat unavoidable (you can’t always predict when your genetic time bomb will go off and cause your cells to go crazy – cancer, Alzheimer’s, etc), HIV/AIDS is almost completely preventable most of the time, and this is one disease you have relative control over contracting: Don’t have unprotected sex, choose your partners carefully, get tested regularly and make sure your partners are too. No hypocrisy about it.
