Chad Hunt starting doing porn after he already had a kid. I’m sure there are plenty of others who are in similar situations. It just doesn’t get talked about as much as the “straight” models.

I can sort of get what you’re saying about doing porn when you have kids. But my feeling has always been why is performing in porn viewed as unseemly, but watching those people perform in porn is okay? If these models are doing something that we’re saying is shameful, then watching porn is just as bad. Now if you’re doing some gutter trash, low-rent site where you’re getting banged over forward and backward for pennies on the dollar by a bunch of guys who look like cracked out messes, then yes, you should be embarrassed. But other than that, I see what’s so objectionable about performing in vids. There are plenty of people who out there who are doing more whorish things under the cover of darkness than the average porn model.

No rant. I liked your input on everything. I think what you said is why so many were mad at the likes of Kurt Wild, Rob Ryder and Brett Swanson because they were doing porn, had kids and were still doing porn. Now Aaron James was more of a mellow version of Vadim Black: doing gay porn and constantly saying he was in it for the money. Anybody have any clue where he is now?

Ahh – sorry had to google him just to make sure he was the guy I was thinking he was. Yeah – nothing on him. Although I do vaguely recall he had softened his position regarding the gay/bisexual issue.. I can’t say where I read it but I recall his making a comment to the effect that if he met “the right guy” he would consider a gay relationship. Then it went on about the usual blather about sexual fluidity, blah blah blah, thing and a thing. Maybe he met Mr. Right.

Yeah, he was just the first in a long procession of the so called straight guys to slowly drop the cover. It makes me angry that this industry, OUR industry, is being ruled by a bunch of sycophants that somewhere decided simply being gay was passe and invented this whole G4P nightmare to boost sagging memberships. Too many people paid way too dear a price to demand respect and equality for the LGBT community to sell out like this.

I didn’t know Chad Hunt had a kid. I remember him calling out Billy Brandt on “Ricki Lake” years ago. I think the topic was about bisexual men. He was in the audience and Billy was on stage with Michael Lucas.

You have imagined Sean’s life and have decided that what you imagine must be true. You could be wrong, unless you are right. Or you could be right, unless you are wrong. But it seem you have decided you can only be right with your guesses and imaginings. Sean could be a wonderful, warm, loving father. His children could absolutely adore him and they could grow to not be judgmental about gay porn stars, as you are. They could grow to have a healthy attitude about sex and have been raised to feel only unconditional love for their father, which includes acceptance of their father’s life choices. Now, that is how I imagine it.

More importantly, the problem for the children may not be when they learn to operate a computer, but when their friends learn, and the local bullies learn. A very large proportion of sub-teens start looking at porn on the internet. Something like 90% of all internet traffic is porn related. A large number of questioning boys (and some girls) will be looking at all porn, both gay and straight. The worry is when someone(s) in the groups I identified find something in which the “prettiest girl in class” “starred” and start to bully the Watermelon kids for what their father did. There is plenty of evidence about what can be the consequences of bullying in tender kids. A parent usually wants to protect their children from that. A parent who is a porn model is probably setting up their kids for bullying from some unanticipated source. Some thinking should always be done before doing porn because you can’t undo it and you and your whole family might have to deal with it.
