Bair hunny – I have to admit you had become a guilty pleasure for me. I actually waited for you to show up with your usual plethora of lunacy and recitations from a by gone era, just so I could drag your silly ass for an hour or 2. But the actions of 4 teens may have altered the way I interact with you for the rest of time. I’m being serious now.

I have an 8 year old nephew who is a high functioning autistic lad, he is brilliant and funny and insanely gorgeous. He is 3 grades ahead in math and reading comprehension, he can name every variety of ocean life by memory, he can pick off a bottle cap from 400 yards with an AR-15. Yet he does not grasp social ques, he does not understand what it is to be mean, he does not understand sarcasm. In his world everything is literal. He is my heart, and he has been bullied – and not even realized that was what was happening. He has not a mean bone in his body, has never uttered a harsh word – and couldn’t put together a mean phrase if they told him they were going to BEAT him if he didn’t do it.

To be painfully honest – I didn’t watch that video of the boy being attacked, because just the blurred still of him cowering in the corner popping up on my laptop unexpectedly made me literally jump up out of a very important meeting and run to an office and lock the door, so I could loose my shit for 15 minutes. I nearly cancelled the meeting.. and I had flown 1500 miles to CALL the damn meeting.

I need you to understand that what I say here I say mostly in jest, although as with anything in life there are shreds of truth in it.. THAT is why we call it shade. I need you to understand that while I may make fun of you from time to time, it was all in good fun – no matter how it may have seemed. I need you to understand that I work in a very high stress, volatile, and yes a little cut throat environment that often depends on me to make hard shitty decisions.. when I come here to throw shade, or my observations – they are my own – and due to my fluent sarcasm, you may not necessarily fully understand my meaning.. hell sometimes I don’t understand my meaning.

I saw my nephew cowering in that corner.. no not literally. I can’t believe there is that kind of sheer evil in people. But worst of all, that boy never dream’t it either. The idea that he might not even be alive today had the woman below that apartment not called the police complaining about the noise.. it’s chilling. I won’t ever shake the way I felt when that image popped up on my laptop.

So that’s it then. With all these words we throw around here, you need to know it’s wicked humor – gossip and yeah a little mayhem. Id like to think you have known that all along, and in your own way you are just having fun with it. But after this past few days, I don’t think I will ever just take that for granted.

This goes for all of you bitches btw. I may be a narcissistic smart assed motherfucker, but I mean it in the nicest possible way… most of the time. But lastly Bair hunny, don’t think you can flounce up in here with your big flowery hat and I won’t snatch your wig. I am no damn saint.

If we’re being serious here, bair, and if you’re seriously looking to improve upon yourself, I’d like to reiterate something I believe I’ve said before, which is that from where I sit you are actually the bully in this particular room. You said it yourself above – NNNY likes to be dramatic and over the top with his “shade”. Almost everyone here does, and that drama is a major signal that none of this is really meant to be taken that seriously.

Yes, some of the things said are mean, but even when it’s about Manny or Robert or any other performer, it’s not really directed AT them. Probably some of them do read it, and maybe a few actually get mad about it before they remember that they actually look good enough that someone paid good money to film them naked, and that everyone on this board is just another random asshole hiding behind a keyboard, but I doubt that any are absolutely devastated by what goosegui or sanfv have to say.

You though, you say some truely hateful stuff. You make it a point to harass people, you directly tell them they’re worthless, ugly, unlovable, terrible excuses for human beings. And while they’re just blowing off steam and offering their thoughts and opinions in a dramatic, catty way (with the goal often seeming to be to get a laugh out of other people here), you seem genuinely intent on causing pain. I’m still not entirely sure if you’re a troll, some misguided Sean Cody staff member, or if you genuinely believe that this is some noble fight for kindness and decency, but if it’s the latter you’re way off course.

I can only explain it as I have already explained it. There are those who think it is just fine writing unkind and cruel things about another human being, who has done them no harm. BUT how dare their post be challenged! Their unkind or cruel words are to be treated as being sacred and to be left untouched, BUT a human being, no biggie. In other words, they can give it but can not take it, and their physical being is not being criticized, for we know not what they look like. We only know what their words look like, and see how they react to their words being challenged. How would they react to an unkind and cruel critique of their PHYSICAL being? OH MY.

Happily, no my Nephew’s “incident” was not caught on video – My Sister and a teacher’s assistant accidentally caught it happening when he didn’t return from a trip to the bathroom in a timely fashion and she had arrived to pick him up from school. After it was investigated they found it had been going on for some time.

This isn’t the place for it – but I am more concerned right now that we have a newly “elected” leader who’s very BEING could undo decades of racial and “human” healing. Where he should be stepping up to say THIS was an isolated horrific act, and does not in any way represent US as a people.. he is standing mute. THAT is just frightening on levels that should rock everyone to their core. It is my most earnest prayer the intelligence community is working night and day to try and find a way to legally end his term before it even starts. He is a real and present danger.

As for being a “sweetie”.. well we all have our demons.

His step father is an ex Marine, who after exhaustively trying to find a way to bond with him (THAT alone was chapters of hillarity) – took him to a private gun range (he started off much smaller) and this kid was a savant sharp shooter right from the rip. They found a way to speak each others language. So it’s their “thing” now. I must admit I was pretty shaky with it at first, but it wasn’t just “shooting” he was teaching him, it went much deeper than that, and when they are done everything is broken down and locked in a gun safe the size of a small car. HE is an old school man of honor, and I am glad he is in my Nephew’s life.

I was more than a little freaked out about it at first. He was only 5 the first time he went out with him. But it was far more than just stuffing a gun in his hand. He taught him history, both his own and the world. The first gun he gave him had been his granddad’s, it was carved out of wood. Over time things moved up, next thing I know little man is jumping in a hummer with 5 hulking Marines to do man stuff, and reading a book about Pearl Harbor. When they come back – he breaks down his own stuff.. I mean like 50 pieces, cleans it and stores it away in the safe. I can identify the barrel and the stock – everything else.. yeah whatever lol. Then – like it’s nothing, he flips on some documentary about creatures of the deep, and starts explaining everything like I am 5.. cuz he pretty much has to – and he KNOWS it. But when the night is up – he is still perfectly content to let me read Dr. Seuss to him.. He has pretty much committed the collection to memory, and I can no longer get away with skipping pages. I might fancy one of these little people in my life one day. For now – I am content being a bit player.

Every second I get the chance. There was a youtube video of a little girl balling her eyes out because she didn’t want her baby brother to grow up. THAT is a little part of me, every time I see him. He is a joyful soul, and he reminds me every day that goodness is no accident.
