I think there are more porn sites competing for talent than there were 15 years ago and the volume of porn is so much greater reducing quality of work–SC and Corbin Fisher used to release one action scene a week and now they are dragged for doing more than that and repetitive pairings.

I think the money they are actually making off of tube sites far exceeds anyone’s suspicion. It has to be pretty lucrative, or they wouldn’t be doing it. I am more baffled that these models haven’t had a good lawyer look over their contracts.

Much of CF’s content and SC’s as well are scenes from long before the tube sites were a thing. Consequently contracts signed during that “era” may be missing language that even ENABLES these sites to be doing what they are doing.

In effect, if they did not build in specific language that allows this, they could be looking at the business end of lawsuits that would finish them. I think they have a better than average argument for collecting royalties much as any mainstream actors do. THIS is in fact the VERY type of practice that put royalties on the map for Hollywood.

Sites like CF, GH, CM could be devastated by such rulings, Mind Geek however would be another story. What is really hurting gay porn is lack of GOOD representation.

I really would love to get a look at the math for the tube sites payout.

They need to form their own guild. With so many of them who are actually far smarter than they appear I am surprised it hasn’t happened yet. Residuals keep many actors alive. The idea these guys get nothing outside the base pay for the scene is absurd, when it’s very clear the companies are making bank on their work for YEARS.

I don’t think it would just kill off certain sites, certainly there would be room for negotiations. I think it WOULD potentially ruin guys who didn’t care to bargain in good faith. But it would go several steps further in that for the first time these guys might have access to real benefits.

I doubt it will ever happen, but if it did it could change the scale of everything for the better.
