Agree with the assessment. Gay porn is all about the body and how it fits into the fantasy of the viewer. What actually happens is they do solos for gay porn studios, and then from there they move onto straight porn.

And the reason why performers are pretty much forced to do solos first is because they have to prove to producers that they can perform in front of a camera. (i.e. get naked, get hard, and produce a cum shot.) It’s one thing to be able to do that on your own or with a partner. It’s a whole different beast to be able to do that in room with 5 other men just staring at you.

And your comment didn’t address my initial query. I suspect solos aren’t a thing in het porn because the str8 male viewers of said porn wouldn’t put up with being given the run-around like that.
