At first glance, Leon comes across as kind of a hard ass. But once he speaks and smiles you realize you can’t judge a book by its cover.

Maybe. But I would like to think that we’ve advanced enough as a society that we don’t have to start balkanizing porn. But from the majority of these comments, it would seem that I could be very wrong about that.

I don’t know if they’re necessarily better at showcasing different races/ethnicities, but RB seems to have a bit more of an open mind about offering a richer, ahem, palette (and their audience doesn’t appear to revolt or throw a collective tantrum every time a model who is darker than say “winter white” graces their screens).

Plus they are slowly moving beyond that whole “all-American” nonsense that was so pervasive in their earlier model/scene descriptions.

Not to mention how when they do present a model of colour, they don’t go out of their way to draw attention to his race in the write-ups. I still remember when Corbin Fisher introduced Dante and Corbin Fisher changed the usually white font graphic to a brown one.

@ baz — funny that both the sites in question (Sean Cody and RB) started off (like the Fox TV network) with lots of black/”urban” content before they moved to an all-american look they define as white.

I’ve been to le Village once during Montreal Pride last year , and French Canadian men are the definetley the rudest men in Canada. They won’t give you the time of day , they’re nothing like the guys from my hometown in Vancouver. No one suggested (at least not from what I’ve read) that you were racist because you thought that Leon was Québécois. What some took exception to is the assumption that you can definitively tell Leon’s RACE (not ethnicity or nationality) simply by how he looks (honestly, dood looks like he could be almost ‘anything’ and from almost anywhere – including white or mixed-race Creole, black Moroccan, black Algerian, and black or white French-Canadian amongst others) or where he was born (as if there are no black or mixed-race French-Canadians).

People have been sold and shipped, they’ve fled and flown from one part of the globe over vast land and sea at least since Columbus.
