I’m not gonna lie – in my first 2 years in college I did a lot of stupid shit including blow. Never Meth or Heroin, that shit scared the hell out of me. Then when the wheels came off the bus with my older brother – that was it for me. Never touched any of it again.

I 100% agree it isn’t wise, I was lucky in that I had WAY too much going on to ever do it on the regular. In time – seeing acquaintances spin out? I had too many plans to blow it down the tube. Chasing my brother around dragging him to one rehab after another certainly sealed that conviction. His death was devastating.

These days – things have become even more deadly, people mixing narcotics like Fentanyl with Heroin, hybrid synthetics – 1 time is enough to kill you – let alone get you hooked. Use of prescription narcotics is still seemingly unchecked despite major restriction of Dr’s willing to prescribe them – you have to wonder where it is all coming from.

Watching someone self destruct, watching them lose everything they worked for, everything and everyone that they once valued – self respect at the top of the list – If you can watch that and still go see the drug man.. you are lost. I was a Tequila man for the longest, I still like it once in a while – but more often than not I have come to appreciate a nice bottle of wine. Since HB and I moved in together we rarely go to a club. It’s pointless when you aren’t there to go fishing lol.

I’ve never even tried the stem trick. I know somehow I would wind up inhaling it. I prefer whites as well, unless it’s with food. Red wine is great for basting hams, my Mother covers the ham in cloves and the sweet and salty from the ham combined with the spice of the cloves and the slight tartness of the wine is amazing – it makes an incredible gravy.
