The trailer really leaved up to my expectation. This was a full on seduction scene, which fit perfectly with the plotline. I really believed these two characters had been anticipating this moment. The visuals were perfect with the body lines and the positioning and the use of the light from the setting sun. The body contact was there, the eye contact was there, David was peppering Scott with kisses all over, Scott had his trademark face scrunch and whimper. It all created a scene that felt more romantic and intimate than what you usually get at Next Door. Fuck that, it felt more romantic and intimate than most studios care to go for. No stupid cheating plot, no scandalized wife or girlfriend, no “I’m only doing this because I’m drunk and/or horny.” Just a display of eroticism and vulnerability. The ending alone was powerful and it had nothing to do with cumshots.

I apologize for being a spoilsport, but here is my problem with the scene. Michael busts first. Carter busts in the same shot (no edit needed) right beside him. The flaw was introduced when the editors decided to create the illusion that all three shot consecutively. So they inserted this reaction shot of Carter. That shot just pulls me out of the scene. It’s the device they always use when they’re trying to manufacture a fantasy (I could create 30 more gifs exactly like this one), and it keeps Next Door on a second-class level. But it was nice to see David pull out and shoot. The editors of the scene just overreached.

I always notice the editing. My strong preference is for loop or overlap editing in the style of CF and (old-days) SC, when Sean Cody was eager to show you that everything was the hottest thing you ever saw. I’ve seen, for example, a distant shot of a bottom cumming while a top makes cumming noises in an otherwise obstructed cumshot, and then you get an instant replay where the top’s cumshot or pulsating shaft is fully visible. CF is the only studio that uses that strategy anymore, and their CFFs are not frequent. In today’s Marco & Dane update, I was praying for Marco to CFF because the scene to me was otherwise extremely good. In the Rocky/Jared scene, there was no edit for a long stretch before Rocky pulled out and COVERED Jared with cum, and Jared cums just a few seconds afterward, still with no edit. When the edit finally happens, it’s to let you see both cumshots from a different unedited angle, not to splice the loads together to fake proximity.
