Ah, this takes me back to a certain night years ago. I met a couple at a bar, one of the guys was young, tall slim and blond, the other was older and short. I agreed to go home with them because the older guy wanted me to fuck his younger boyfriend. You know – there’s a lot of really good footage in this scene. And there’s really no “bad” footage in this scene.

And, ironically, that’s its problem.

This scene runs too long to register as truly exciting. And that’s with all three performers turning in good performances. However, sometimes when too much good footage has been shot, it’s difficult or /may feel unnecessary to whomever’s in the editing room to cut the scene down to the finely crafted/set jewel it needs to be. This used to be the genius of Sean Cody’s formatting just a few years back. Having – in effect – shot two scenes with the performers in question, they were able to edit them down to two smoking hot, rapid fire volleys that frequently came off as a barely contained, incendiary, sexually sizzling fire burst of note. This is rare, if not unheard of, at Sean Cody nowadays.

But why would I bring it up now if this style of filming/editing is seemingly part of a bygone era of such high quality video production? Because the very premise of this and its sister release where Asher gets off watching Sean fuck Deacon in return lends itself – nay – practically BEGS for that approach to be taken. And, near the end of this scene they make a unwitting nod to this being true by beginning to have Deacon suck off Sean; it adds little to this scene other than to announce “there’s more coming in the next instalment – stay tuned”.

I usually hang back from the handwringing fest over Sean Cody’s changes since the MindGeek takeover, but this is a easily identifiable and fixable problem that can yield great results long term. When you have a lot of footage to play with, make the choices, leave things on the cutting room floor and craft a truly stunning scene! Corbin Fisher (yes, plagued by its own problems and quality decline for a number of the past few years) proved itself a master at making the call that way in the past: better a hot, somewhat formulaic, snappy fifteen minute scene than a tepid, extended twenty five minute one.

This scene with Sean, Asher, and Deacon came off as tepid because the over the top cries and static position drilling simply went on too long before the next change up would emerge. There was nothing in and of itself “wrong”; there was just too much of it! This weakened the impact of the scene as an instalment. Which was really unfortunate.

I’m hoping I’ll find something different when I watch the scene where Deacon bottoms; but from this vantage point, I wouldn’t lay money down on it.
