When all the social justice and racism talks were going on last year, Ashton and Theo made it a point to actively avoid the discussions of racism in this country and this industry because they didn’t want to get involved. They both got dragged for it, made really superficial and shitty comments to various posters, then threw up some halfhearted showings of support. And sometime along the way Ashton said something about being part Black. It was all a mess. Nobody was asking you to take to the streets. But to make it a point to throw up dick pics and whatever when important conversations are taking place (and in Ashton’s case, a conversation which he is automatically a part of as a person of color and model of color) was extremely tone deaf.
Plus, he kept bouncing between Helix and Men. Which also speaks to his flakiness.
