I disagree (partially). I think the pool of recruitable guys (guys willing to do gay porn) is just lower. Yes, the two factors that you mentioned are key, but I’d argue that the lack of anonymity with the advent of social media/stans and various cultural/economic changes are making it much more riskier for young men of a certain age to agree to things especially gay porn. 2001: 57 percent *oppose* gay marriage, 35 percent support it.
2016: 32 percent *oppose* gay marriage, 62 percent support it.

You are misreading it as an increase in support from 57 to 62 percent, but the correct reading is an increase from 35 to 62. In 15 years, the country turned completely upside down on the core belief that marriage equals one man and one woman. If you can’t acknowledge that as meaningful progress, then nothing more needs to be said.

My mistake for misreading the numbers, which is a better increase. I still don’t think numbers are necessarily reflective of what we’re seeing taking place in the real world now, especially given the current political climate. But you’re right, nothing more needs to be said.

Lots of people can say things on paper, but then they feel differently when presented with a real-life situation. But if you think polling numbers trumps what is being presented in the news and in politics, nothing I write is going to influence you to think differently. Our experiences shape our perceptions.
