You should scroll back through his old scenes. You’ll see I liked him for the full first half of his career. But he has done over 100 scenes in six years (that’s just counting what was posted on WB — that might not even be the whole list). I’m not even sure MaverickMen have done that many, and they own their own goddamned company.

But it’s way more than just overexposure. Gay porn literally changed my life. I grew up in a town where NO ONE was out, and the only gay men I knew were in magazines. So while I keep it in perspective, these images still mean something to me. No matter how sordid, gay porn can and should be beautiful and powerful. It doesn’t have to take itself seriously 365 days a year, but I find the stuff below genuinely squalid and embarrassing.

Would you like Dante more if he would only film for one studio?

It’s not really about that. The entire industry is in decline, but there are a few remaining bright spots. Bel Ami’s star never got tarnished and Lucas has done exceptional work even if the cumshots at both studios never, ever satisfy my CFF standard. (I found some old Bel Ami scenes where guys actually came from fucking but they seem to have given up on that element, not that they were ever good for spontaneous endings.

omg, I’m not answering your question at all so let me get to the point. I think once you have done more than a dozen scenes, there are three ways your career can usefully go. 1. Remain at that same studio and try to get better and better (Vander). 2. Hop around among studios, but avoid doing a terrible scene just for a quick buck (Bishop Angus succeeded at that, Manuel Skye recently failed at that by doing Bromo with Bo Sinn). 3. Turn your career into an implied narrative where the porn star “character” has gotten more and more depraved and cum starved. I’m fascinated by a few of the guys who went from CM to SketchySex (including the original bottom Eli). That site betrayed my fantasies with their persistent use of fake cum, but despite that and despite the garbage on the floor and the drunken antics, I actually still respect what they do as an abstract fantasy. I don’t watch their scenes because of the fake cum, but some aspects of what they do I find really appealing. If they hadn’t resorted to fakery, I would probably have become a subscriber.

Either way, they are playing an identifiable fantasy role, and any gimmicks they use are an effort to enhance what they think is sexy. I think MEN only wants to generate clicks, not fantasies. Like the Kars for Kids kids, they are designed to create buzz through controversy and even hatred.
